LOL!!! Before criticizing others why don't you consider your statement.
1. this is the frostbite engine
2. this engine emphasizes destructibility.
3. a fence is missing...hmm I wonder, destructibility?

Take it from me, I threw a grenade at the fence and it was blown to smithereens. Again, destructibility? Like I said before to the other person above, try harder when you are being critical of something that you obviously have no clue about.

I guess you are neglecting the fact that the environment is destructible? Aka, a missing tree and fence because it got blown to smithereens?

Try harder please :)

I think they are pretty much on pace to beat the 2008 total software sales though. Although it won't be a 60-100% increase yoy, I am sure they will post a respectable increase given the circumstances. My thoughts are also based on the fact that GoW3 will land before the March Quarter ends. I am not too sure about Heavy Rain sales, but I am sure that these 2 games combined can push Sony to an increase yoy in terms of total software sales.

I think "downfall" might be a little harsh. But, it is definitely safe to say that it won't have the same magic that the first one did. The first one was something very different compared to other shooters and that definitely worked to the game's advantage. Because of that uniqueness, I have doubts about how they were able to make a sequel to expand the story when it seems the story is already closed and done with.

I expect the game to average around the 88 to 90 range...

Correction: There is multiplayer! :D

The online portion is basically like an MMO. You use the character that you created in the main game and party up with other people online. Then you go and do quests to get online exclusive items that can be used in the offline portion of the game. You are also able to build your own town with your own npc's that sell certain things based on the npc's that you recruit in the offline portion. That is basically a summary of what to expect for the online portion. Hope that helps.

But you can't create your own arenas in GoW3 now can you? And you can't have 2 player co-op in those arena modes can you? :P

You know the commercial is still going to be shown during the Superbowl but the tag line is just going to be different? And please just give it a rest and let the NPD numbers talk for pete's sake.

@MajesticBeast
I am not saying it is going to outsell GoWIII. I'm just sick of all this hate on the game. It has a very compelling story and that is reason enough for it to be good. (However, I am a believer that numbers are objective as opposed to reviews, which are subjective b...

There is nothing fishy about another person besides the PS3 team reviewing this game. And please don't give me this crap that they are biased. The reason why someone completely different is reviewing it is because they had 1 person dedicate his whole time to play MAG online. So, his sole job is to review this game based on as much time as he can get in (which is a good idea since the other reviewers only have so much time due to reviewing multiple games). Hence, this review is a sound reflect...

This is kind of different. What happens is that you are directly interacting with the end user/end customer, so you can track that information. However, Sony for the most part does not interact with the end user/customer. Here is how a console manufacturer's "distribution chain" looks like:

Sony/Microsoft--->sells--- >Wal-Mart--->sells---> ; customer.

Here's the flow of money

Sony/Microsoft<---$$$<- --Wal-Mart
Wal-Mart<...

Actually, this is coming from very well respected sources and the majority of the time, the analysts are right in these respects. (not Pacter and his game sales predications) They use far more sophisticated simulators and tools to accurately predict forecasts. If you don't believe me you can funnel through as many articles as you can find about analysts making predictions on company earnings. I am sure you will find a high ratio of correct predictions.

Actually, I think a lot of developers will utilize the upgrades to create more interactive and interesting games. I can see this compete in the same space as the DS in relation to the casual gamer market.

Actually, I think it falls under electronics. Dunno why, its just how they structured their divisions.

Interesting. I wonder what the status is of their Entertainment Division--whether or not that division posted a profit by itself. Judging by the overall profit, it should definitely be.

Well, what I mean is that it will sell poorly in the US due to, like you said, the cultural differences. Honestly, the best thing to do would be to let this particular version go and develop the next iteration as a multi-platform game from the start. This way, like you said as well, they can make...some profit from the US market.

Because your the scum on the bottom of a shoe?

On Topic: Could be a pure cost/benefit analysis decision. Because so much time has passed, the game might have become forgotten and therefore would result in extremely low sales (especially for jrpg's anyway).
